National Cancer Survivors Day is June 7, 2020, this year. Our motto at Paragon Healthcare is People Purpose Passion, and we have a keen interest in the well-being of cancer survivors. If you or a loved one are undergoing cancer treatment, this message is for you. We provide a wide array of services to support the patient undergoing cancer treatment to help to maximize your wellness while on therapy.

Our team has decades of experience in supporting cancer patients throughout their treatment. No matter what the challenge is, your Paragon team of skilled professionals is here to help.

Nutrition therapy is key to maximizing health during cancer treatment. Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy affect both your appetite and ability to eat. Working with your doctor, our specially trained dietitians, and pharmacists can recommend the best nutrition formula or intravenous nutrition to meet your specific needs. Our Pharmacists, Dietitians, Registered Nurses, and Nutrition Support personnel are available to troubleshoot any issues with your therapy and look forward to helping you navigate this journey.

Adequate hydration can be challenging to maintain during cancer treatment. Many patients will need additional intravenous fluids, which can improve their health status significantly. Paragon is here to provide the hydration therapy ordered by your doctor in either our infusion centers or in the comfort and privacy of your own home, helping you maintain your hydration status and energy level.

Did you know we have a specialty pharmacy that can provide the injectable medications that are often needed during cancer treatment? With your doctor's prescription, we can give the injectable medications used to support blood levels that can be decreased by cancer therapy.

Patients with cancer may have an increased chance of developing infections, and cancer treatment can increase this risk. Paragon can provide the intravenous infusions that your doctor prescribes to fight your infection, either in our infusion centers or your home, and can arrange a qualified home health nurse to assist with your home infusion therapy.

Each of our entities can provide supportive care in cooperation with your physician, and we look forward to helping you on your voyage to improved health. Our team of compassionate professionals is ready to meet your needs and exceed your expectations.

About National Cancer Survivors Day

National Cancer Survivors Day is an annual, treasured Celebration of Life that is held in hundreds of communities nationwide and worldwide on the first Sunday in June. It is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families, and an outreach to the community. On National Cancer Survivors Day, thousands gather to honor cancer survivors and show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be fruitful, rewarding, and even inspiring.

It is a day for everyone, whether you're a cancer survivor, a family member, a friend, or a medical professional. This day provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer – including America's more than 16.9 million cancer survivors – to connect, celebrate milestones, and recognize those who have supported them along the way. It is also a day to draw attention to the ongoing challenges of cancer survivorship to promote more resources, research, and survivor-friendly legislation to improve cancer survivors' quality of life.

When is National Cancer Survivors Day?

National Cancer Survivors Day is observed each year on the first Sunday in June.

What does the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation do?

The nonprofit National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation provides free guidance, education, and networking to hundreds of hospitals, support groups, and other cancer-related organizations that host NCSD events in their communities. Through National Cancer Survivors Day, the Foundation works to improve the quality of life of cancer survivors by raising awareness of cancer survivorship's ongoing challenges.

Who is a cancer survivor?

The National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation defines a survivor as anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life. National Cancer Survivors Day is an opportunity for your community to demonstrate that it has an active, productive cancer survivor population and brings awareness to the challenges they face during and after treatment.

We hope you will join us in celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day on the first Sunday in June. To locate an event near you, contact your local cancer treatment center, hospital, or American Cancer Society office. If your community doesn't currently hold an NCSD celebration, you can help organize one. Click here to find out how.
