Recently, one of our very own Registered Dietitians, Lillian Cole Collard, was published in the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (JPEN).

Recently, one of our very own Registered Dietitians, Lillian Cole Collard, was published in the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (JPEN). As a Registered Dietitian (RD), she is a studied expert in nutrition and plays a critical role in the lives of our patients who require tube feeding or TPN therapies.

ASPEN is dedicated to improving patient care by advancing the science and practice of clinical nutrition and metabolism. Founded in 1976, ASPEN is an interdisciplinary organization whose members are involved in the provision of clinical nutrition therapies, including parenteral and enteral nutrition. With more than 6,000 members from around the world, ASPEN is a community of dietitians, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, scientists, students, and other health professionals from every facet of nutrition support clinical practice, research, and education.

ASPEN’s nutrition journal, JPEN, is the premier scientific journal of nutrition and metabolic support. It publishes original peer-reviewed studies that define the cutting edge of basic and clinical research in the field. It explores the science of optimizing the care of patients receiving enteral or IV therapies.

Lillian’s research focuses on the attitudes and perceptions of blenderized tube feeds (BTFs) by physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs), which has not previously been explored. In the past, the topic has only been investigated in relation to patients, caregivers, and registered dietitian nutritionists. Read the full text to learn more about her findings.
