Quality of life (QOL) is a phrase used a lot these days, but what does it actually mean? QOL is a broad concept encompassing how people feel and how they view their current situation in life. This can vary from person to person. When a patient has a chronic condition, it is essential to evaluate their quality of life specific to their health AND as a whole. This includes the physical, mental, and emotional health of the individual. We are rolling out a brand new project that focuses on the quality of life of our patients.
At Paragon, we treat people with a wide variety of conditions, both acute and chronic. We understand the range of emotions, both positive and negative, experienced by our patients related to their disease state. At times, it can be tough to find reliable resources related to your condition. There is so much information available that it can be overwhelming to identify what content will be helpful and valuable. That’s where Paragon comes in – Our heart is to provide each person in our care with tools and resources that can help them effectively treat and manage their condition. We’re putting all of the useful information that our patients need in one place.
We took a step back to really listen to the communities we serve, and we heard the questions and needs of people just like you. To us, you are not just a patient. You are not just a number or a statistic. At Paragon, you are part of our family. We know that your condition and symptoms are important factors in your overall quality of life, but so is who you are and what you love to do. Whether you are an adult, a parent of a child with a chronic health condition, or a teen transitioning to adulthood, we have resources tailored to meet you where you’re at. We want to see you excel and thrive in life! Our Quality-of-Life Program isn’t intended to correct anyone’s lifestyle or tell them how to live but rather empower them to create new opportunities for themselves through small, positive changes.
There is no magic recipe for a high quality of life, but there are definitely some tips and tricks everyone can incorporate into their health and wellness journey. When patients are inspired to manage their condition and take charge of their health, we often see their quality of life increase at the same time. We are here for you. Our team of dietitians, nurses, account executives, and pharmacists are only a call away. We have live clinical staff on-call 24/7 ready to assist our patients with any needs that may arise.
